- Associate Veterinarian-Tampa, Locally Owned
Description
Most veterinarians didn’t enter this profession to rush through appointments, defend basic diagnostics, or practice medicine by spreadsheet.
West Park Animal Hospital exists as a deliberate alternative.
We are a veterinarian-owned, locally led primary care practice built around a simple belief: when given time, trust, and the right clients, excellent veterinarians do their best work. Our goal is to restore what many clinicians feel has been lost, depth of medicine, professional pride, and meaningful continuity of care.
The Medicine We Practice
This is a practice for veterinarians who enjoy thinking, both medically and surgically.
We schedule long appointments (up to 40 min) to allow proper workups, thoughtful discussions, and follow-through. Our doctors are encouraged to pursue advanced medical management, dental treatments, and surgical care, supported by capable staff and an engaged client base that values comprehensive treatment plans.
High-value medicine here means pursuing diagnostics when they meaningfully change outcomes; explaining the “why,” not just the “what”; recommending the best option, even when it requires nuance and conviction; managing cases longitudinally; and taking ownership of both medical and surgical decisions appropriate to primary care.
Practice Environment
Veterinarian-owned and locally managed. No corporate protocols or quotas. High staff-to-doctor ratio.
Calm, boutique hospital design with low-stress handling principles. Culture built on curiosity, professionalism, and accountability.
Sustainability Without Compromise
Predictable weekday schedule. Maximum four-day workweek. No weekends. No on-call.
Flexible Compensation-one size doesn’t fit all. Let’s talk about what you need to meet your financial needs. For starters we offer a competitive salary, paid holidays and vacation, licenses and dues. There is real opportunity here to build a loyal following of dedicated pet owners.

From the Practice Owner
I built West Park Animal Hospital to deliver the kind of medicine I would want for my own dog: thoughtful diagnostics, evidence-based recommendations, and uncompromising medical and surgical care. This practice exists to give veterinarians the time, support, and autonomy to practice at that level, without cutting corners. If you have any questions, please email me at dchurchill@westpark.vet.
