Description
Northside Animal Hospital is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to our team. As a general practice technician, this role includes, but is not limited to, assisting doctors during appointments, independently performing technician visits, providing client education and communication, managing prescription refills and online pharmacy requests, monitoring anesthesia, performing accurate drug calculations, collecting samples for laboratory testing, maintaining laboratory equipment, and administering treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.Northside Animal Hospital is located in Hooksett, New Hampshire. We are a three-doctor practice specializing in preventative care and wellness, medical case diagnostics, surgery (and are orthopedic capable), dentistry and imaging. We also offer a fully stocked veterinary pharmacy, in-house lab work and ultrasound capacity! We've been a beloved part of the community for over 40 years and are dedicated to individualized care and a stellar customer and patient experience as well as industry leading staff retention. Northside Animal Hospital supports dogs, cats, and other small animals, as well as exotics (note: Experience with exotic species is not required; we are happy to train motivated and enthusiastic candidates).
Experienced Veterinary Technician
Northside Animal Hospital in Hooksett, NH
Pay range: $25.00 - $30.00/hour, depending on experience
This role is also eligible for an incentive bonus of up to $3,000!
Full time or Part time hours offered. We are open Monday through Friday - no weekends!
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
- Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
- Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
- Perform physical assessments and record your observations
- Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients
- Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
- Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
- Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)
- Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery
- Pharmacy skills, including protocols for filling in-house
- Monitors vitals by hand and with equipment
- Sample collection and processing for in-house and reference labs
- Communicates within the team, proactively advocating for their patient's needs

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in anesthesia and sedation monitoring
- Experienced Veterinary Technician - CVT preferred, but open to highly skilled, well-rounded technicians regardless of credentialing
