Reproduction Veterinarian

Equine Medical Services is seeking an associate veterinarian to join our well-established, growing reproduction practice. The applicant does not need to have all of the listed skills mastered, as training and mentorship are provided for the primary duties for the position. The primary duties of the position would involve: managing client mares for TVAs and some breed-to-carries, embryo recovery, embryo transfer and transvaginal follicular aspiration.  The practice currently produces about 500 in house embryo transfer pregnancies per year, with roughly 90% from our on-site ICSI laboratory and 10% from in vivo produced embryos on site.  This is a new position and an opportunity to practice high quality reproductive medicine with an experienced and supportive team.  The job will be primarily in the clinic but occasional farm visits may be required.  Located in the active college town of Columbia, Missouri. New graduates as well as recent interns are encouraged to apply, as well as seasoned practitioners. Base salary of 120K+ commensurate with experience level. Emergency coverage is shared by multiple veterinarians on the EMS team and the practice is not heavily burdened by emergency calls.  Equine Medical Services is privately owned, enjoys a good reputation, excellent clientele, and a diverse patient base. Our campus includes 116 stalls (the majority are used for the reproductive portion of the practice with a 6 stall hospital barn for day patients or the occasional sick horse), multiple exam areas, paddocks and exercise pens. Start date for the position can be flexible, with the option to start immediately or after candidate has fulfilled their current employment or school obligations. 

Our compensation package includes a very competitive salary, insurance stipend, CE allowance, paid vacation, PLIT insurance, license fees and association dues paid. A fully equipped vehicle is provided for professional use.   

Equine Medical Services is located in the thriving college town of Columbia, Missouri.  Home to the University of Missouri, the area is host to a variety of sporting events year round, a vibrant downtown culture with a mix of live music, yearly music and film festivals, and local wineries and breweries.  In addition, Columbia is also the home of Stephens College, Columbia College, and a large population dedicated to work in the healthcare and technology industries.  Columbia is also home to a vast network of outdoor recreation, including the MKT trail, open year-round for hiking and cycling in all four seasons. The surrounding areas include St. Louis, Kansas City, and the state capitol Jefferson City.
