Neel Veterinary Hospital is growing under a new leadership team focused on clinical excellence, team development, and a strong, supportive culture. We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support our Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) departments in Oklahoma City.

As an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Assistant, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and technicians in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. This role is ideal for individuals who remain calm under pressure, are detail-oriented, and are passionate about emergency veterinary medicine.
You will be an integral part of a team delivering advanced care to critically ill and injured patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with triage and patient intake in emergency situations
- Restrain patients safely for examinations and procedures
- Support catheter placement, fluid therapy setup, and sample collection
- Prepare and maintain emergency and critical care equipment
- Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas
- Support anesthesia preparation and recovery
- Provide compassionate client support during high-stress situations
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant required
- Emergency or specialty hospital experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and procedures
- Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Physical ability to lift and restrain animals as needed
