Cascade West Veterinary Hospital, a proud partner of Thrive Pet Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Compensation: Negotiable based on credentials and experience, with an hourly pay range starting at $18-$20 /hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
About the Role
As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our veterinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in gathering patient histories
- Establish and support treatment plans
- Perform patient diagnostics, including lab work and radiographs
- Communicate important patient care information to clients
- Maintain hospital cleanliness using aseptic techniques, proper PPE, and isolation protocols
- Frequently lift and move patients up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Previous veterinary experience required
- Exceptional communication and client service skills
- Professional, courteous, and team-oriented
- Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities
- Detail-oriented and proactive
- Self-starter who takes ownership and goes the extra mile
- Eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
- Saturday availability required
