Who we are
At Canandaigua Veterinary Hospital, you’ll feel the warmth and openness of a small clinic, while having the opportunity and support of a united network. Our ideal candidate is an upbeat, self-starter with a passion for providing excellent customer service. Our team is focused on providing a welcoming and educational environment for clients and pets. This experience starts when the client walks through our door and speaks with our Client Service Representatives. This part-time position would require 20 hours per week, including some weekends and Holidays.
Role Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and patients warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming and professional first impression.
- Answer multi-line phone system
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
- Schedule appointments
- Process payments, prepare invoices, and handle financial transactions accurately
- Ensure the lobby is clean and organized
- Educate clients on wellness plans, preventative care, and post-visit instructions to promote long-term pet health
- Demonstrate compassion and professionalism in every client interaction, reinforcing trust and the human-animal bond
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Previous experience in a veterinary. Medical, or customer service setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort using computers and veterinary software
- Compassionate and professional demeanor with clients and pets
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure
- High school diploma or equivalent, AAS or higher preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, squatting, reach, standing, and walking throughout the day.
- Must be comfortable working in an environment with animals of all sizes, including exposure to noise, odors, and pet dander

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a rate ranging from $16.50-18/hr. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
