Join the dedicated team at Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers of Bonita Springs, FL and make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners as a Veterinary Technician in our Oncology department. We are a leading family-owned veterinary hospital committed to providing exceptional care and treatment to pets in our community. As a Veterinary Technician in our Oncology department, you will work alongside experienced veterinarians and compassionate veterinary professionals to provide top-notch care to pets diagnosed with cancer.Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care, including handling, restraint, and medication administration
- Collect and record patient history and vital signs
- Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for procedures
- Monitor and document patient progress during and after treatment
- Perform routine diagnostic procedures, such as blood work, cytology, and radiology
- Administer treatments, including chemotherapy, under the guidance of veterinarians
- Assist with specialized procedures like ultrasound, biopsy, and CT scans
- Monitor patients during anesthesia and post-anesthesia recovery
- Provide support and education to pet owners facing a cancer diagnosis
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
Ideal Candidate
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician preferred
