The Los Angeles Veterinary Center was created to function under a 501c3 for the improvement of the veterinary community, as a whole.
This clinic is much like many other modern veterinary clinics. We have digital radiographs, ultrasound (with or without real-time specialist consultation through Oncura Partners), digital records, in-house blood machines, a fully stocked pharmacy, and a helpful/friendly staff.
The difference between our practice and typical veterinary clinics/other 501c3s within the Los Angeles area is in the culture. We don’t focus on production, nor do we focus on rescues/adoptions. We feel that if the staff members do their jobs, and that if the doctors maintain a relatively full schedule (not overly full), then the bills pay for themselves and the practice thrives. Practicing good medicine speaks for itself, and the general public responds to this culture.
We also work with a handful of great organizations (such as Downtown Dog Rescue) that feel comfortable in helping the community when individual clients can’t afford a bill for a case with a relatively high chance of a favorable outcome (pyometras, etc.).

What to expect:
30 minute appointments
4 day work week
1.5 hour lunch break (although please don’t kid yourself, most doctors write notes/catch up on calls during this time to avoid coming in early/staying late).
3% match on 403b retirement plan.
100 hours (10 shifts/2.5 weeks) of paid time off annually
A reasonable CE allowance
Medical and dental insurance
Public Service Loan Forgiveness – this is major, and one of the underlying drivers for establishment as a 501c3 practice. Under the program, veterinarians and other qualifying staff can enjoy forgiveness of government student loans (tax free) after 120 qualifying payments, thereby reducing the financial burden of incurring high student loan debt.
