Virbac Australia has a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Services Manager (Regional Livestock Veterinarian) to join our commercial team.
About the Opportunity:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide field technical services to Virbac livestock customers such as farmers, rural retail stores and veterinarians. To support a trusted advisor and sustainable approach to Virbac sales and marketing, this role delivers essential technical expertise, including communication, training, diagnostic services, product evaluations, and the creation of farm animal health programs.
Key Areas of Accountability:
Provide a trusted advisory service to farmers, store staff, and veterinarians. Deliver technical training and coaching to relevant sales teams. Plan and implement technical events (seminars, farm visits, roadshows) in collaboration with relevant sales teams. Visit Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and livestock veterinarians. Provide on-farm diagnostic testing, analysis, and reports. Design and implement product evaluations and act as an investigator in post-registration trials for key brands. Collaborate with the National Technical Services Manager to develop and implement technical strategy, planning, and projects. Build and participate in the cross-functional development of a Virbac Australia Technical Community (across sales, marketing, R&D). Identify opportunities for and take part in co-operative research programmes. Provide technical input into the field investigation and management of Adverse Experiences (Pharmacovigilance).
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
A degree in Veterinary Science and eligibility for veterinary registration in Australian states is required. A current and valid driver's license is required due to necessary travel to different sites. Good knowledge of the prevention, diagnosis and management of livestock diseases A good understanding of Australian livestock production systems. Ability to collect diagnostic samples and perform necropsy in livestock. Knowledge on registered livestock health products in Australia (Virbac and competitors). Willingness for regular travel throughout the will be required Excellent skills in adjusting communications to suit a wide range of customers and stakeholders is essential. Excellent knowledge of MS office suite of programmes is required. Fluent in colloquial and technical English, including good understanding of livestock health terminology, is required. Must focus on customer satisfaction.
