Country Oaks Veterinary Clinic is a privately owned AAHA-accredited small animal hospital located in Central Florida near Ocala and The Villages.

We focus on building lasting relationships with our clients while providing compassionate, high-quality medicine with the support of a collaborative and positive team culture. We are a multi-doctor practice with no corporate affiliation and a strong commitment to mentorship, professional growth, and long-term career satisfaction for our veterinarians and support staff.

Our hospital was selected as one of America’s Best Animal Hospitals 2025 by Newsweek and participates in FDA-approved veterinary clinical trials.

Company History

Country Oaks Veterinary Clinic was originally founded in 1976 by Dr. William Freel with the vision of creating a veterinary hospital centered around compassionate medicine, strong client relationships, and a supportive workplace culture.
Dr. Frances Ramirez joined the Country Oaks team in 2002 and quickly fell in love with the practice, its clients, and its culture. In 2007, she purchased the hospital with the commitment to continue building on the values and relationships that made Country Oaks special.
Over the years, the practice has grown into a respected multi-doctor AAHA-accredited small animal hospital serving pets and families throughout Central Florida. While continuing to invest in advanced technology, progressive medicine, mentorship, and collaborative patient care, Country Oaks has remained proudly privately owned and deeply committed to personalized veterinary medicine.
Today, Country Oaks Veterinary Clinic continues to focus on combining high medical standards with compassion, teamwork, and a positive environment where veterinarians and staff members can thrive both professionally and personally.
