Description
Bay Area Pet Hospital is a privately owned, 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital located in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan. Since 2010, we have proudly served northern Michigan as a high-quality community emergency hospital, providing compassionate and efficient emergency care to pets throughout the region. We are not a specialty referral center and work closely with downstate specialty hospitals when advanced referral care is indicated.
Our team currently includes 8 full-time emergency veterinarians with 6–15+ years of experience, creating a collaborative and supportive environment for both seasoned ER doctors and those looking to grow their emergency skills.
We are currently seeking part-time veterinarians for:
- Weekend daytime emergency/urgent care coverage
- One overnight shift per week (6 PM–7 AM)
Our doctors work overlapping schedules, with at least two DVMs on the floor together until 11 PM to ensure strong team support and case collaboration.
Position Responsibilities
Day Shift
- Outpatient urgent care and emergency appointments
- Fast-paced caseload with strong technician support
Overnight Shift
- Emergency case management
- Oversight of hospitalized inpatients (average 5–6 patients/night)
Compensation
- Day Shift: $120–140/hour, based on experience
- Overnight Shift: $1,700–1,900 per overnight shift, based on experience
