Canyon Crossroads Animal Hospital is a privately owned small animal practice in Tijeras, New Mexico, seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our team. Established in 1987, we remain proudly independent—meaning our medical decisions are driven by doctors, not corporations.
What Your Schedule Looks Like
4-day work week
3 days of appointments + 1 dedicated surgery day
No after-hours emergencies or on-call responsibilities
Balanced appointment flow that allows time for thorough diagnostics and case management

Equipment & Medical Capabilities

Full IDEXX in-house laboratory suite
Digital radiography and digital dental imaging
Advanced imaging: Modern ultrasound with echocardiogram capabilities
Advanced anesthesia monitoring: Full Cardell monitoring including ECG, SpO2, blood pressure, respiratory rate, capnography, and Doppler, supported by a dedicated technician focused solely on anesthesia monitoring during procedures, allowing doctors to focus on medical decision-making rather than task overflow

What We’re Looking For
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in New Mexico
Strong communication and client education skills
Team-oriented mindset
Interest in surgery and dentistry (mentorship available if needed)
Commitment to high standards of patient care and medical ethics

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in New Mexico
Ability to confidently manage a diverse caseload, including wellness, urgent care, and more complex medical cases
Proficiency in routine soft tissue surgery and dentistry
Strong diagnostic skills, including interpretation of radiographs, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory results
Commitment to practicing high-quality, evidence-based medicine
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and educate clients effectively
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Strong organizational and time-management skills to maintain efficient workflow without compromising patient care
Positive, team-oriented mindset with a focus on contributing to a supportive and professional work environment
