East Side Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.
As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Our Veterinary Technicians/Assistants are the heartbeat of our team and work side by side with our Veterinarians (DVMs) during procedures. A full-time position would require working between 30-40 hours a week, which includes a combination of day & evening shifts.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assisting DVMs during procedures by restraining animals, conducting tests, monitoring vitals, and administering medications.
- Maintaining medical records and communicating with clients on their pets' medical procedures, including treatment plans and costs
- Maintaining examination, treatment, and surgical suite, including maintenance of equipment such as anesthetic machines/ monitors, x-ray machines, dental, and autoclaving equipment.
- Must be comfortable and confident handling dogs and cats of all sizes
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or RVT-eligible preferred; experienced Veterinary Assistants encouraged to apply
- 1-2 years of veterinary clinic experience preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a positive, friendly attitude
- Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Professional and courteous with clients and team members
- Able to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Stays calm and responds effectively in emergency situations
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow
- Supports veterinarians with technical and administrative tasks
- Flexible schedule availability
- Willing to cross-train and assist with front desk duties as needed
- Compassionate about animal care and committed to providing exceptional client service

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
