Making care accessible for underserved communities
Leaving work knowing you helped dozens—not just a handful—of animals every single day
What You’ll Do
Perform high-volume spay/neuter surgeries on canine/feline patients (averaging about 30-40/day)
Perform general surgery (Ex: enucleation; pyometra; mass removal; cherry eye repair; cystotomy; gastronomy; enterotomy; entropion; gastropexy; etc)
Maintain exceptional standards of care, safety, and efficiency
Oversee anesthesia and perioperative protocols
Mentor and collaborate with veterinary staff and technicians
Contribute to program growth and community outreach
What You’ll Get

Competitive salary
Generous PTO + paid holidays
CE allowance (including HQHVSN training opportunities)
Licensing, DEA, and professional dues covered
Loan repayment assistance (where applicable)
A mission-driven culture that values your impact and your well-being
Who You Are
DVM or equivalent, licensed (or eligible) in Ohio
Confident in surgery—or eager to become highly proficient in HQHVSN techniques. (Paid training in North Carolina with the ASPCA HQHVSN program will be required for candidates who have not already completed.)
Efficient, focused, and calm under a fast-paced surgical schedule
Passionate about animal welfare and population control
A team player who thrives in a purpose-driven environment
Bonus Points If You Have
Prior HQHVSN or shelter medicine experience
Interest in training/mentorship or program leadership
A desire to scale your impact beyond traditional practice
The Bigger Picture
Every surgery you perform prevents future suffering.
