Hotham Veterinary Services is currently a 4-doctor practice with 2 locations. Our first hospital in Presque Isle and a second location in Houlton, Maine. We have a fantastic support team at each site and well-equipped, well cared for hospitals that include ultrasound, full lab, and digital radiology. Veterinary Assistant

Hotham Veterinary Services in Presque Isle, ME

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
• Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
• Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
• Perform physical assessments and record your observations
• Keep furry friends calm and still during procedures
• Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
• Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
• Assist the veterinary technicians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures.
• Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery
• Pharmacy skills, including protocols for filling in-house
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining facilities.
• Sample collection and processing for in-house and reference labs
• Communicates within the team, proactively advocating for their patient's needs
• Operates practice management software (Cornerstone) and related software packages

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent
