Description
Hotham's Veterinary Services is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to our team. At our clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. Our welcoming environment means you'll be greeted by committed veterinarians to provide the best possible care. . As part of our team, you'll work with the latest technology, gain access to state-of-the-art training facilities, and collaborate with a positive team to deliver the highest quality of care to the pet patients we all love.Hotham Veterinary Services is currently a 4-doctor practice with 2 locations. Our first hospital in Presque Isle and a second location in Houlton, Maine. We have a fantastic support team at each site and well-equipped, well cared for hospitals that include ultrasound, full lab, and digital radiology. Veterinary Assistant
Hotham Veterinary Services in Presque Isle, ME
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
- Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
- Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
- Perform physical assessments and record your observations
- Keep furry friends calm and still during procedures
- Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
- Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
- Assist the veterinary technicians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures.
- Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery
- Pharmacy skills, including protocols for filling in-house
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining facilities.
- Sample collection and processing for in-house and reference labs
- Communicates within the team, proactively advocating for their patient's needs
- Operates practice management software (Cornerstone) and related software packages

REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
