For more than 25 years, Animal Clinic of Woodland Park has offered affordable and compassionate pet health care from our little red cabin in the center of Woodland Park. We take pride in caring for pets in a friendly, open atmosphere, emphasizing client education. Our doctors are trained in all aspects of internal medicine, dentistry, and surgery, and they work with clients to provide the best possible care for their pets. We primarily treat dogs and cats, but our staff also work with the Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center as well as Catamount Wildlife."Best Veterinarian & Best Animal Hospital" for seven years running in Teller County!

Qualifications
- Experience as a Veterinary assistant.
- Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Understands and applies hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintaining the hospital standard of cleanliness
- Removes trash, sweeps, and mops daily
- Assisting in the set-up of multiple procedures including xray, ultrasound and surgical procedures
- Stocking medical supplies
- Cleaning of kennels
- Properly washing and sterilizing surgical equipment
- Hospital laundry
Animal Care
General knowledge of animal restraint to assist Veterinarians and Technicians with:
- Blood draws
- Nail trims
- Health exams
- Anesthetic procedures
- Administering vaccinations and/or injectable medications
Personal Conduct
- Adheres to all hospital policies, standards, and procedures, including but not limited to dress code, smoking, and personal calls, as stated in the hospital procedures manual.
- Serves as a representative of the hospital, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, patients, and other staff members.
- Demonstrates initiative in everyday duties by seeking other work during down times, assisting other employees, and filling in for other employees as needed.
- Adheres to the posted work schedule. Arrives for work promptly and begins work at the start time. Follows hospital policies for reporting lateness or absences.
- Utilizes the time clock to clock in and out at the beginning and end of each day and during breaks.
- Organizes work area and exercises time-management skills to maximize personal efficiency.
- Prioritizes tasks and handles multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.

Additional Duties
- Occasional property maintenance i.e snow shoveling, lawn mowing, trash and fecal matter disposal, bird feeders etc.
Requirements
- Availability to occasionally work uncommon hours and overtime and to be recalled in emergency situations.
- Excellent animal-handling skills, including the confidence and dexterity to administer medications.
- Ability to properly restrain patients.
- Demonstrated ability to show empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion.
- Ability to lift objects weighing 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
- Preferred: One year or more of experience in a veterinary hospital.
