The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Emergency Veterinarian to join our growing emergency and critical care team on a full-time or part-time basis.
This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside specialists in:
medicine
surgery
critical care
cardiology
neurology
anaesthesia
dermatology
ophthalmology
You’ll see a wide range of complex referral and emergency cases, making this role highly varied, interesting, and professionally rewarding.
We also actively promote the use of endoscopy where appropriate, giving emergency clinicians the opportunity to expand into minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures if and when they feel comfortable.

Advanced ECC Mentorship & Skills Development
At VSOS, emergency clinicians are supported and trained to grow exceptional critical care capability.
You will be mentored directly by a Critical Care Specialist, with hands-on teaching and support in advanced skills including:
Managing ventilator patients
Performing pericardiocentesis
Placing central venous lines
Thoracic drain placement
Working with complex emergency and post-operative referral cases
Our ECC team is supported by our specialist group 24/7, ensuring you are never working in isolation.
What you’ll do
Provide high-quality emergency and critical care to patients
Deliver exceptional client communication during stressful situations
Work closely with specialists and nursing teams to ensure best outcomes
Perform and develop procedural skills (including endoscopy where appropriate)
Contribute to a positive, collaborative emergency culture
Participate in continuous learning, case discussion, and hospital growth
Requirements
About you
You are:

Emergency veterinarians of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
Veterinary registration (or eligibility) with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW, or equivalent in Australia
Recognised degree: BVSc or DVM
