The Hospital
You won't be practicing ER medicine on an island.
Sunstone is an established specialty and emergency hospital with Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Clinical Nutrition under the same roof, experienced veterinary technicians and assistants, and a leadership team that believes ER doctors should have the support they need to practice excellent medicine.
We have CT, endoscopy, digital radiography, ultrasound, dedicated surgical suites, and the equipment and specialist collaboration necessary to manage interesting and challenging cases.
We also support internship and residency training, creating a teaching-oriented environment where questions are encouraged, knowledge is shared, and continued learning is part of everyday practice.
Just as importantly, we are building an ER service where people work hard, communicate directly, support one another, and then go home.

Why Sunstone?
We're independently owned. Decisions are made here, by people who actually work in the hospital.
Our specialists and ER doctors work together directly rather than in silos, and our leadership team is onsite and accessible.
Our goal is straightforward: excellent medicine, exceptional personal care, a strong team, and a sustainable life outside of work.
Living in Portland
Portland offers easy access to the Oregon Coast, Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood, wine country, and year-round outdoor recreation - along with the food, arts, neighborhoods, and airport access of a major city. It is a place where it is possible to build a full life outside the hospital, too.
